I moved from the Midwest to Colorado. I love to fish but I could never get into fly fishing. I set up a nice 6ft ultra lite rod and reel combo. Only thing I fish with is the HD trout lures. I have had more luck with these lures then any rooster tail or panther marten spinners! I caught a 23 inch rainbow on the HD Trout lure. I live by these and will continue to use them!

These lures rule. I suggest replacing the treble hooks with singles even if your stream doesn’t require it, because I had the misfortune of having a flopping trout hook me with the other treble while I was landing him, and we were hooked together for a very painful few minutes until I was able to get one of us unhooked.

These lures are about the same density as water, so they suspend horizontally in the water, and it’s relatively rare for me to snag up even in the current. Usually if it gets pulled between two rocks, you can let out some line so that a bend of line floats downstream, and then yank on the slack to turn the lure around and get it heading downstream.

I fish mostly small streams 15-20ft across, and they’ve HEAVILY pressured, especially around the holes that are easy to fish. I’m talking suburban Philly streams. But this lure really shines in the deep, fast-moving riffles around big rocks. I like to launch it right up above a big cascade and let the current push it over into the pool below. It will sink a foot deep or so and look like a stunned fish, and I often get an aggressive strike without imparting any action at all. Also send it to the far side of the stream, a few inches from the bank where the current is slower, and trout will sneak out from their lays and thrash it. It casts really accurately.

It does tend to catch the line on the front hook more often than does a Rapala, but I think it’s worth it. Although the two-inch gold and blank sinking Rapala is still maybe my FAVORITE trout lure of all time, I lose them so frequently in the streams where this lure excels that I’ve made the switch. This is cheaper, just as effective, and much less likely to become a drain on your pocketbook by getting snagged and lost within the first 100 casts.

The HD has quickly become one of my go-to lures! The Glimmer Trout has been particularly deadly for N. GA Rainbows, they just can’t seem to resist them. I have almost all of the HD Trout lures in my tacklebox, all of them have been very productive for Rainbows and Large Mouth Bass. You can’t go wrong with these!!

I purchased 2 of the brown trout color scheme on Saturday. Sunday we went floating and between two of us landed 33 trout in 5 hours. I caught over 20 and ALL of my fish came from this lure. Awesome artifical!

Im not much of a review guy. So I will just say this: I’ve caught 10 different freshwater species on the HD. Personal best for Largemouth on the Blue and Silver. Personal best for Tiger Trout on the Blue and Silver. Personal best for Smallmouth on the Black and Silver. Numbers for 18″ Walleye and Pike on the Brown Trout. …Cast it. Troll it. Love it.

    HANDS DOWN THE BEST EVER.
I have used live minnows my entire life, nothing else. Until now! I will never use a live minnow again because of the HD Trout Lure. This is no sales pitch. If you don’t use these great lures, well then that’s on you. I Bought several then bought several more. Stocked or wild trout it really doesn’t matter. This past weekend was hands down the best day on the creek I ever had. My 3 year old daughter was ripping lips all day with them. Thanks for the hook up ( pun intended)

I started fishing the HD trout 2 years ago. My first day out I had my best day trout fishing the Colorado River. Today about all I use is Dynamic when I’m going for trout

Great lure…I’ve had river outings where I’ve caught several 20”+ rainbows on this lure. It’s now my go-to!

I have a story to share. I learned of Dynamic Lures last year as an emergency physician when a patient came in with a Rainbow Trout lure in his finger. The patient told me it was a ‘must have’ lure for the Appalachian mountain trout streams. I actually ordered several on Amazon before he left our ER. He was right. I caught dozens of trout in surrounding streams. I have replenished my lures several times and given many for gifts to my nurses and their spouses. This spring I purchased a few of the Brown Trout color and have found it to be the best producer yet! On my first outing I caught 4 in 45 minutes and lost 2 (we have a single hook regulation for the early part of the season in some hatchery stocked streams). Keep innovating! Your lures are the best available.
