Micro Spinnerbait (2.5″) developed by Dynamic Lures is a product that took several years of testing and development. We wanted to bring the same type of design and maneuverability of the Bass style spinnerbait to a much smaller size application. Trying to develop such a small and intricate bait would be a tall but fun task. Lure designer and Owner of Dynamic Lures Brian Alano discussed his idea for this bait.
“I wanted to bring the versatility and snag less features of the Bass style bait to a much smaller form. This smaller size would be perfect for Trout, and Panfish such as Crappie, Perch, and Bluegill. The toughest part of this design process was designing the blade size and shape. The shape had to be narrow enough for trout, but also wide enough to grab water and make vibration. After several months of testing different style blades and shapes, we decided on a variation of a small willow style blade.
The next challenge of this bait design would be the body. The body had to be bright enough to bring attention to it, but not big enough to scare smaller sized fish away. We decided on a style body that represented more of a thin fly like body. Most Trout and Panfish eat bugs, flies, and nymphs. Our body resembles more of that type of shape rather than the traditional rubber skirt type body of the bass spinnerbait.” -Brian Alano
